Good for some - bad for others.

Is there any particular food or drink that you avoid because you may be adversely affected when you consume that food or drink ?. It seems some of us can eat almost anything without any ill effects while others are forced to be picky. I know someone who would love to be able to eat avocado - he has several trees on his property - but he cannot have not even one slice. While every member of his household - and neighbors indulge. So, what food or drink may affect you in ways you do not like ? I usually get ill effects after drinking a certain tea, but I have no problem with most others.

I'm not allergic to any foods, but there are lots that I won't eat simply because I don't like them.

So are you on a raw food diet? That can be very beneficial.

@1hopefulman You changed your avatar - just realized who it is. I plan to try the raw food diet for a couple of weeks, but I will wait until our vegetable garden is in full bloom.

I pay for it when I have too much dairy - particular milk. I didn't have a problem with it as a kid, but somehow in my adult life I got a bit lactose intolerant.

@Kandae11 I seem to be able to tolerate a little - but not sure of the limit. I can handle cheese or cream for the most part - just drinking it is a whole 'nother issue for some reason.

Yes that happens. Sometimes it affects me and other times it doesn't - so I play it safe and use lactose free.

You will find vitamin K in green leafy vegetables, - and smaller amounts in fish, meat, liver and eggs.

Some people eat a lot of chili and it is all right. But if I eat some chili, my mouth will blister and I will have an ulcer.

@Tampa_girl7 It could be the variety or type of mango, Here in the Caribbean there is a choice of many different varieties - and some may not go down so well. Do you remember which variety resulted in a bad reaction?

@Kandae11 I always hated peanut butter and wished I were allergic to it so I wouldn't need to eat it with the jam sandwiches mom always made for my school lunch. I didn't know I was allergic to peanuts. It's an annoying allergy, not fatal, which is good.

In my case, I cannot eat some food anymore. But I tried not to think of myself as a sickly individual and divulge instead to the food I love to eat. And there are foods I am avoiding because I'm afraid to die. There are crabs and prawns.

I can't drink carbonated beverages any more. I miss having a coke once in a while! Also, any food with dye, I get sick from eating it. I have Celiac Disease, so can't eat any foods with gluten. It's hard, but not impossible to weed it out.
