86 Years and Roughly 86 Miles is all that separates me from my great great grandmother.

I posted that exact thing (the title) on ancestry's subreddit. This is something I found by the help of an aunt (My father's sister who was adopted out). Shed talked with my grandmother (her mom) and was given pictures and able to glean a lot from her and looking up records.
Minnie Greer Spears was the name of the great great grandmother who was born on the same day I was albeit 86 years before.
I probably should have posted about this before, but I wasn't at home on my birthday and I hadn't thought to do it before. I will post a picture of her but I am not sure it will be very big.

Can you please tell us some more about her ? Maybe you two got some things in common, like hobby, maybe an activity or same way of life...What do you know about her ?
My mom told me her father (and my grandfather) used to sleep with a dog in his bed. I used to sleep with my dog when I had a chance. The dog used to come to my room, stare at me asking to join and I allowed it :-)

@ScribbledAdNauseum I'm sure it is interesting to know what was her life, what she did, where did live and etc...Give it a try, maybe there are still people who know her.

@ScribbledAdNauseum You can change it from this day, you can start taking pictures, put them in albums, make a diary, so your kids will know about you, they will be able to read your memories, you will show them pictures, and so on. The albums are now not so popular because of the digital devices, the mobile phones can store photos but, it's not the same...

@stringer321
People are printing photos from their phones and saving them in albums now.
I have no kids and I may never have kids.

Do you not see the photo above? if not refresh as it might show up. I usually have to refresh when I first enter a discussion with a photo in it.

Refresh the page and see if you can see it then. Whenever I first go into a discsuon with a picture, I have to refresh the page. If not, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I do of my great grandparents on my mom's side. I don't of my great grandparents on my dad's. I would not have come across this photo if it hadn't been for my aunt.

Yes, I thought it was a pretty good one since a lot of photos scanned into the computer come out blurry and people can't or don't know how to fix it.

I thought so to. Had it not been for a DNA test, I would have never known. My father's sister found me through ancestry because of the AncestryDNA test I did there.

I'm not really obsessed with it. I do like to look into it but I don't spend a lot of time with it either. I had all but given up on finding information about this family anyway.
