Poetry: Can we avoid fear in our lives, even that felt in our old age?

Fear eats into you from every age, if you do not sauce it over with love. Never fear time!

Fear arises from many directions of itself. It tries to shape your outlet in its own way. Fear does not wear a mask, it is we who do, only when we fear the fear of the fear in fear. Love embraces all of its friends, including fear. Never let fear drive you away from such love. Life is as long as it is, no longer. It ends on time. Everything is planned. Fear changes nothing. The greatness of God should not be denied. Fear denies. Live for love, and let all else sit on itself, not within you. Observe life for what it is in you right now, be this love. Then all fear will not affect you, when you rise above it. Age has no age that needs to be feared more than others. Every page is written by love, in the pen of God’s hand. Wrinkles in time smile at you from your own face, you see. They are gifting you with a new way to be you in your body. I like this poem a lot. Yes, never fear time and never stop it. The future is time.

Thanks. My mother is 87 now, and sometimes it is hard for me to block the fear of her future demise, and to just love her right now.

@ihasaquestion Yes, thank you. I hope so. She has a health issue right now to deal with, that has also brought up some fears, for all of us.

Thanks. I was feeling some of the pain of fear myself. That's why I wrote this just now.

Well said Steve when we are filled with love, fear does not have a place in us. Every stage has a purpose, meaning, to be lived and even savored. We all go through, even others. I heard it said to drive home the point - the fresh leaf had a hearty laugh when a dry leaf could not hold on and dropped to the ground little realizing its own turn was not far off! There are purpose and meaning everywhere and no need to despair and lose our moorings - siva

Thanks siva. I like the leaf example. The bucket of life fills slowly, then empties quickly, but the vehicle of love, which contains even each bucket, remains, retaining the love, and the wisdoms learned, from each inpouring and outpouring of the bucket, stay in our soul, forever, as well. I have heard it said that knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of God does not come from how deeply we think, but from how deeply we love.

@Shiva49 Beautifully summarised siva. Experiences merging with inner knowing brings depth of understanding and wisdom to us, both within, and without, in our minds, and in our souls.

@innertalks Yes, Steve, love opens our heart to enjoy and imbibe knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and appreciation to the fullest extent. Every experience is stored indelibly and merges with our inner knowing even - siva

Thankyou, for appreciating my efforts here at writing some poetry. It's hard to know if people would like it, or not, at times. Sometimes I write a poem, and I am tempted to dress it up a bit with some rhymes, etc etc., but here I left it just as I first wrote it, resisting making any changes to it. When I try to dress up a poem too much, sometimes, I think I can ruin it, instead of actually improving it.

@innertalks Reading and writing poetry is also my hobby. I do understand your stand about making rhyme on something that's already been done, I think preserving free verse the way it was is better.

@simplfred Yes, inspiration, I think, sometimes, must be left a little raw, sometimes, because the rawness, is part of the bigger picture being shown. I am reminded of the woodcarver, who so intricately carved his bow, that it broke in half, when he went to use it.
