Is this spam or a scam or is it legit?

I got a call from an unknown number and didn't pick up. The voicemail on my phone (from that number) asked if I would be interested in sending my resume and to call them back. When I called back the number there was an automated message telling me that the number is not a working number. I found that to be weird so I did a reverse phone look up of that number on the White Pages website and above the number is the phrase in orange ! Suspected Spam. I got another call from the same number but didn't pick up again. It was pretty much the same voicemail except the number to call back was different. I called back but got the same automated message. I did a reverse phone look up for this number but there was no ! Suspected Spam message on top of the page. Is this spam/scam or is it legit? The place the call was supposedly from was the place I had replied yes to in a canvass letter I received.

It's a scam. I've had those numbers, and couldn't call back. I didn't do any further research into the number. Just knowing the number isn't legit is enough for me.

Yes it definitely sounds quite phishy. If it were a legitimate company the voicemail wouldn't be automated. Is there a way for you to look up the numbers or other contact info for the canvass letter you received? If so, I would do that and cross reference.

@lovebuglena Hmm. I would proceed with caution. There are a lot of phone scammers around now.

The number I called was not a working number supposedly as that's what the automated response was. But the voicemail I got was not automated. Both times the person said she is calling in regards to my application.

The canvass letter was mailed back and I didn't take a pic of it. So, not sure what the phone number on it was, if there even was one. I tried searching for both numbers on the website of the place where the person said she is from but they didn't come up.

It does not sound legitimate to me. It sounds like they are phishing for information.

The spam reports for the first number say a few different things. None of them seem to mention the place I supposedly got the call from.

@lovebuglena The fact that the phone numbers keep changing gives the first clue. And the spam reports show something different. Just be careful if you are determined to follow this up.

@akalinus I did not call them back anymore. They didn't call back either.

I too have had those calls and the same response when I call back. Spam I think.
