Thoughts about giving Info to Cash Back Apps and Money Making Apps....

So...I have a friend who will never download any apps that require giving them her email address or any info. I always tell her it’s no big deal, just make up another email address and use it. They don’t know who you are. Well, I had been already using Shopkick and liking it, and found out about another app and downloaded it and use it, then facebook and instagram know everything and they know I use these apps, so they started showing me ads for more apps that are similar where I can make a little change just by doing what I like to do anyway, similar to Mylot, so I got even more apps. Everything seemed all fine and dandy. Well, last night I was doing the dishes and I got a text from a stranger asking about my cleaning business if I can do a cleaning job and accept a credit card as payment. I told the man I don’t have any way of accepting credit cards at this time, and my schedule is actually pretty full but I may know of someone else who could clean for him, so I’d check if they can accept credit cards and I’d get back to him tomorrow. He then asked if he could trust me to tell me something. Well, that sounded scary. But I said “What?” He said he wanted to know if he could trust me to tell me more about what he really wants. Well, then I was really scared. At that time my husband came home and I showed him the conversation and asked what I should say now. So I told the man I try to be trustworthy, but I’m sorry I won’t be able to help him. He said Ok. Then a few minutes later he wrote that he really wanted to tell me that I can earn $10K a week if I can get a $100 Vanilla Gift Card and he can put $5K on it every day for 6 days if I can trust him. Then I cash out the money and we share the percentage. I said No Thank You and I blocked his number. At some point in the middle of the conversation I said “By the way, where did you find my number?” He said he Googled Cleaning Services in my area. Well, my cleaning business has not been online for several years now and I even googled it myself last night and cannot find it! I’m thinking he must have got my info from an app and thought that I’m desperate for money! But I’m not. I just use these apps for fun and to make a little spare change while I’m doing it - Legally. I don’t need money badly that I’d fall for some Scam! It’s a crazy world out there, be careful my friends!

Oh yes, it really is a crazy world out there. I usually don't use those kinds of apps plus I hate to download anything on my PC or phone. Hmmm, maybe I should use that old tin can I put away cuz of a virus to see if I can get an app to help add a few pennies to the wallet.
