Do You Always Have to Have the Last Say In Words and Action?

July 16, 2018 11:36pm CST
I used to be like that when I was in high school, but changed my perspective on things and became more tolerant and sensitive towards matters that perhaps is futile to explain. Please don't air your dirty laundry here, for I want my discussions to be healthy and general so that we can share joys and experiences together. If you have positive thoughts, I would especially love to read them. So, do you always have to have the last say in action and words? I don't necessarily have to have the last words or action myself, unless someone requests me to do so, which I will accordingly.

I don't consciously try to have the last word. Sometimes it works out that way because I might think of something else to add to a conversation. Now as a bratty kid many times I would get the last word in when being reprimanded by my Mom. Thank goodness for maturity, lol. And a wonderful and forgiving mother!

it depends on my mood and whether if I have the time or not. BUT often, I don't have the time, so... (I like that image you used . I do have a dictionary/reference books of abusive sayings in French, my husband's property. Don't know where it is right now, but I thought that book was funny!)

Oh no! I gave up on having the last word when I realized 40 years ago that my husband could outlast me in any conversation. Especially if it's a heated discussion.

If i have an suggestion to air out on a certain matter i usually do so if i think it will help come up with a good last decision but i do not necessarily have to make the final decision.

I't's not something that I worry about. For me, life or a discussion is not a competition but a shared experience.

I don't usually have the last say, or try to. I let conversations play out naturally.

@ihasaquestion I love the picture you attached to this. Made me laugh! I guess I can't really say much as you prefer not to hear negative stories but I will just say that I never used to have the confidence to stand up for myself ( having the last word ) but nowadays, I do stand up for myself but not in an immature way. Meaning, I do only speak my words until they are all out but not because I wish to have the last word.
