EYE Doctor

I went to the eye doctor. I really do hate going these days. I need new glasses. My old one are pretty scratched up. I can not stand having my eye dilated. Well, they found a cataract in my right eye. Not that it makes any difference, I cannot see out of that eye anyway. It's very small and they are not worried.
I should have my new glasses in the next week or so.
They were running an offer on a free pair of contact lens. I would not think they would have anything strong enough for my eyes but they did. So I decided to try them.
I soon realized there was more to the reason I stopped wearing contacts years ago than the fact that they did not make them strong enough for my eyes.
I have bad allergies in my eyes. Not good if you want contacts. I had them in for a few hours, but had to take them out because I just could not take it any more.
I have been wearing glasses for so long now, it doesn't matter. I am too old to care about looking pretty.

@whiteream it takes a few hours to go away. I too don't like the sensation of brightness and blurred vision that gives a headache.

I hate having pupils dilated. I know they need to do it. I just don't like the feeling it gives you.

I had my eyes checked after two years again last Monday and I too will be getting my new glasses on August 8th. Hopefully they'd contact me sooner though. I chose the aviator style this time.

@whiteream No, you do not even know that you have glaucoma if the doctor does not test your eye pressure. This is very dangerous, it can lead to blindness. I was lucky it was discovered by chance when I wanted to buy new eyeglasses.

@LadyDuck Thank-you. Now I know why they do all of that stuff to me. It drives me crazy but it must be done. As I only have one good eye. They do a lot of different tests.

I am happily married so I don't want someone making a pass at me. My ears are not even and my glasses look strange on my face .

I did not think about it until I read this, but I do have scars in my right eye. Maybe that is why I can wear contact in it.

I know what you mean. I am blind without my glasses. Being able to see is the important thing.

I have tried contacts and couldn't stand putting them myself. This year I got new glasses and they didn't dilate my eyes. I hate getting dilated too. Next time I will have to get them dilated.

I have to have it done because they are very careful because I can only see out of one eye and if that goes I am in trouble.

I never could stick anything in my eye, its always been glasses for me. I do not wear them inside very much, I just need them to see far off so I wear them when I am outside, and always when driving.
I need new glasses, mine are three years old, or more.

When I was a teenager after wearing glasses for ten years I did. But now I don't want anything to do with them.

I just wonder why some people love to wear contact lens. Isn't it hurting or irritating the eyes? I hope you can have your eyeglasses soon.

When I was younger it did not bother me to have them after sometime you don't even know they are there. But now I just can't take having them in my eyes.
