Wearing sun glasses in the house

When I got up yesterday, the sun shining through my dining room window really hurt my left eye. Any time I looked close to any light, my eye would get a pain.
I just kept hoping it would go away, but it was worse today. My eye doctor said he could work me in, so I saw him this afternoon.
He said I have Iritis, an inflamation that causes pain and sensitivity to light, sometimes can make the pressure in the eye shoot up, and can cause Glaucoma.
I already have Glaucoma, so I'm hoping the steroid eye drops he prescribed will clear it up. I'm using the generic form of Pred Forte.
He said since my eye pressure has stayed low that it should clear up in a few days. I sure hope so..I'm scheduled for cataract surgery in that eye in two weeks!
There's not always a definite cause for Iritis. The odd thing is, my husband has the severe chronic form that he will have forever.
A few years ago, he was in horrible pain with one of his eyes. His pressure went up to over 50. Normal is around 15. He developed Glaucoma from it and wil have to take three different eye drops every day the rest of his life.
With the kind of Iritis he has, he could lose his actual eye, not just his eyesight. I'm thankful there are meds that help him, and I'm thankful maybe my case will go away soon.
In the meantime, I'm wearing my sun glasses in the house!
Have any of you ever had Iritis?

Thanks, it feels much better. Please see your eye doctor as soon as possible. There are several diseases that can be halted, but not reversed.

@1creekgirl I am glad you feel better. I think that the medications are clearing the Iritis, you should be fine by the day of your cataract surgery.

Yes, he knows about all of it. I'm to keep using the drops for the Glaucoma along with the Pred Forte for the Iritis. I do feel better today (light doesn't hurt). He's going to be sure it's cleared up before the cataract surgery.

We appreciate the prayers. He does fine as long as he does the drops every day and my eye feels better today.
