Can you think of cheap ways to travel?

We are thinking of buying a train pass to travel around a large area of South West England. It is not affordable to stay in any hotels along the way because it is August. I wish to visit Poole on the seashore. My son wishes to visit Mar Well Zoo. Years ago my daughter was delighted to visit Peppa Pig World. She is a little too old for that now. Can you think of cheap ways to travel in your home country?

In my country some long distance buses are much cheaper than the trains. Hostels and B&Bs are the cheapest ways to spend the night. One of my friends recently stayed in a B&B, he paid $25 for one night, hotels often cost $150 or more per night.

It is wonderful that long distance buses are cheaper than trains in Demark. I think $25 a night is very cheap instead of a hotel at $150 a night. I came to Denmark in 1990 on an Inter Rail Pass.

@maximax8 Which places did you visit in Denmark? Yes, $25 a night is very cheap. The room was very small, and he had to share the bathroom with the other guests, but it was fine, he just needed a cheap place to spend the night.

I am using hostel and cook in the hostel too since eating out kinda expensive. And travel to another city when airplane got really cheaper price, usually on Wednesday. For traveling around I am using motorcycle. I hope your son and you will have fun

I think the midweek idea is excellent. Most backpacker hostels have kitchens so I can make meals there instead of eat out.

If traveling by car, you can save restaurant bills by getting supplies at the grocery store.

That is an excellent idea because grocery shops can be a great deal cheaper than eating out.
