The older generation can learn a lot from the younger ones This is overlooked how much young people can teach older people For me I have learn some from the younger generation. I am sure the younger ones love to hear from the older ones. Learning about life, family, jobs, where we came from etc. How about some here did you learn something from the younger generation/ I am sure most have . Photo online

As a part of evolution many things they have changed today. Like today we have computers with us but we don't know how to fix small software problems we get in them. Similarly we have smart phones today and there are many things in them about which we don't have any idea....we can learn these things from the people of younger generation!

When my husband is not around, I go to my elder daughter for all the issues that I face with my laptop or my smartphone.

How it should work. Only a wise person tries to learn in all ways possible. The world would probably look totally different if they never listen and learn from young kids. Hell, we would have probably already blew ourselves up.

That is a great attitude. Wouldn't it be wonderful if both generations felt that way?

The most I learn from my grandchildren is technology. They understand it and it boggles my mind at times

I think the generation of my parents and aunt can learn from our generation that parenting is a bit more relaxed these days. Children of our generation is given more freedom to choose what they want to do in their lives, parents of my generation are already giving their children a space to choose, to be what they want and be more supportive. Unlike during our times when our parents, or most of the parents during our time insists on their children to follow their footsteps, take ownership of their business, that they are forced not to explore and do what they dream of. Though my generation is not too far from the current one... I still consider myself to be a millenial. Stuck in the old thinking at times though but is very open to new discoveries, especially the technology. I guess I learned or have learned to sometimes live my life in a fast paced environment, to learn how to cope or be left behind. unlike during our parent's time, their lives seem more relaxed. They are not too forced to be quick, etc. Unlike now that if you don't cope you are outdated already.

@amadeo yes, never felt they had to go fast and catch up to a lot of things, unlike the poor generation after me. They seemed restless.

My 14 year old son would talk about designer shoes and clothes and music and I learn something new about that everyday from him. But he learns life lessons from me as well.

It's the younger generation teaching us how to use all these new fangled devices we like to play on every day - computers, iPhones, iPads, tablets, laptops. We didn't have any of this when we were growing up.

I confess the greatest lessons that I have learnt in life are from my daughters and my children with whom I work as an educator. Every one irrespective of their age can teach us something valuable. We have to be open about it.
