How should you respond?

There are some members here who would always reply back to your answer with an emogi. I understand we can do it at times but not everytime. If others are taking pains to respond to your discussions then it is your duty to revert back with some lines. Sending an emogi just at the start of the discussion is just an end to any further discussion.

That reminds me of a person who will always say thanks for sharing. To be honest, this drives me crazy every time.

Maybe they have nothing to say, or could not think of any comment at that moment.

@amitkokiladitya haha its hard to reply if that is the response I will get, and you are right. no matter how much you still want to continue with the discussion, its like okay they ended the discussion.

@chiyosan yes...it is just an abruptly end at the start itself.

I feel really bad about such responses..emojis, thanks for sharing, thanks for your response etc.. You have a discussion so one is supposed to respond and you are supposed to revert back to start with interaction. Yes once we reach some conclusion or towards end of our interaction, a thank you or emoji or like is a good way to put a stop to it. But just in the beginning, it kills the interaction prematurely. Now I do not feel motivated to respond to such users.

@amitkokiladitya There are enough people here who love to interact. So go ahead with them.

I like emojis to depict an emotion in an answer. I can see those who make an effort at answering something, and are very polite too. I appreciate all those, and will be very detailed in my answers. Otherwise, if there's no other need to reply, I don't feel it's necessary to prolong the discussion. But just an emoji with no answer is weird though.

That is what my point is. Even I don't like to respond to those who I know never revert back properly

I get that from time to time also from members. I just deal with it & move on to the next one.

Maybe they use the emoji because they can't think of anything to say, but it is hard to continue the conversation that way. I usually try to write a few sentences.

@amitkokiladitya Some members do it all the time. If I can't think of something to say (that doesn't happen very often
) I just wait and write the comment later.

@Porcospino true..I understand this can happen after a few lines of discussion. But never at just the start of any discussion

i sometimes end a thread with an emoji. if i have nothing more to say, my comments show some emojis so i think it is still good

@amitkokiladitya that is true. we should make a valid comment to the discussion, and not immediately place an emoji.

They are simply uses in addition with text. Single use spoils everything

Not always you have what to answer, I think it's nice to answer with emogi
but if a discussion can be develop I agree here it's not ok to reply with emogi :)
