Bugs Eating "Okra" (Lady Finger) Leaves

My okra plants (lady finger) are about to bloom and bear fruits, but I was so sad seeing the leaves with little holes.
I gently tapped the leaves and saw bluish little flying bugs on it. This is the first time I planted okra, and I do not want to use chemical pesticides. So I thought of mixing dish washing liquid with water then spray it on the leaves. I thought it is safer to use dish washing liquid, although it also has chemical ingredients. Talk of "lesser evil!"
I hope it will work.

there are many okra plants at the backyard but the fruits dry up because our neighbors who planted those, do not harvest the ripe ones. okra is the only fruit vegetable that i eat, and which i planted before that grew because it did not need to be well taken care of.

I agree, it does not need so much maintenance/care but I wonder why there are those little flies/bugs that eat the leaves.

@acelawrites maybe your okra plants are growing near some flowering plants?

Pesticides surely work against bugs; but I do not like it's effects on humans who might absorb the harmful chemicals in it.

I hope it works. But those who are into organic planting would remove those bugs by hand. That's why they charge a lot of money in selling organic vegetables and fruits coz they require a lot of manual labor.

I do it also when I find them on the leaves;that is mechanical instead of chemical means.
