I live in a park in Florida. For years, we had rabbits all over the place. I used to watch them frolicking in the rec area across the street. They chased each other until they were tired. The bunnies seem to be gone. I miss them. What do you think happened to them?

@akalinus Maybe they found homes for them or moved them to someplace else. I hope they are ok wherever they are.

I hope they are okay. There were so many and now they are all gone.

That's too bad. It would be nice to be able to watch they running around playing. I hate to think a predator has been out there hunting.

I used to ride around in a golf cart with a friend. She took her dog and that dog went crazy when we saw bunnies. We rode around the edge of the treelines and the fields in the evening and there would be rabbits everywhere.

@HazySue Oh, me too. When I walk outside, I always look for signs that they are around. I saw a squirrel running up the tree in my yard the other day. I hope things are looking up. I have not seen any tortoises around here either. We used to have a lot.

I remember seeing sparrows like that. Now we have to travel outside the city to spot a few. Cell phone towers I believe are the culprits, as also missing trees. They are not strong enough to fight with bigger birds so they have gone to outskirts.

Have a lot of trees been cut down? If the birds lived in them, they would find places where there are more trees. I bet you miss the sparrows.

There are so many out of control predators in Florida like pythons that rabbits are food.

The pythons are further south than we are. There are alligators around but we are not near water.

This happens. There were many parrots use to visit on our building terrace in summer but before few years they stopped coming. I am still wondering why?

I wonder if they are dying off for some reason or things have changed and they like another place more.

@karjivk I hope your parrots are still alive. It worries me that so many animals are missing. I wonder what is going on.

Sadly we have a lot of hawks here that get our rabbits.

I used to see hawks around here but not lately. It is possible that they caught all the rabbits and moved on.

@CarolDM Yes, they are doing what hawks are supposed to do and all the rabbits can do is jump into a hole or hide.

@akalinus Yes it is and it is sad to thin of the predators. But they have to survive as well.

I'm sorry they've disappeared. I don't know what could have happened to them.

That is sad, hopefully they come back. I know we had some bunnies around here but a lot of stray cats came in and so they had to go somewhere else.

We had a large amount of them around. There were also feral cats. The old manager trapped the feral cats and the bunnies were still around. It is just the last year or so that I noticed the rabbits were gone.

@DesirousDreamer I hope so because I really miss them. If a predator ate them, who will they be going for next?

This is a pretty good place for bunnies. There is a lot of open space, a woods on one side, fields on another side, people in the park who leave out green garden goodies for them to eat. I don't know why they would just pick up and leave.
