The researchers have found some increase in lightning strikes in the recent years in our cities. Whatever may be the reason behind this, it is not a good thing to have specially when we're having this rainy season now.In my neighbourhood, lightning strikes has destroyed many electrical appliances even this season. Even one of my relatives, experienced its wrath recently when it burned down their electric fan at night when they were sleeping. Luckily, there was no injury. Whenever we hear the sound of a thunder now, we switch off some electrical gadgets? Do you have any scary experience of thunderstorm?Do you follow precautions? Image: weatherimagery.com

I haven't noticed it yet. During lightings, it's better to stay home or inside

I read somewhere that the safest place to be during lightning is inside the car because the only points that touches the ground are the tyres, being made up of rubber, it doesn't conduct electriciy...

Sometime just switching off is not enough. We need to pull the plug out of the socket. This is because the power surge can still travels to your electrical appliances.
