Today I hit a new milestone on my morning walk with my missus. I've been building up to it since the surgery June 6. This morning, I walked 2.2 miles at a pace of 17 minutes 30 seconds a mile. It was the first time I've gone 2 miles or more since getting the new hip. The best part was that I felt like I could keep going. We had to stop because we both had to get ready for work. Have you hit any milestones recently that you've been working hard towards?

I used to walk, ride my bike, and do light workouts with weights. The bike is no really an option as I donated it a while back. I sure am glad I can take long walks again.

@DWDavis You could come chase critters around for me lol. That gets me more than enough. And now I have a truck full of muskmelons to unload. Glad you are doing so good now.

@wolfgirl569 I wouldn't mind chasing some critters. My sister has chickens I would chase but now she has a mean rooster and I've tangled with roosters before.

That's what my colleagues at school call me. I joke that I'm not bionic, I couldn't even get the surgeon to include Bluetooth.

@JohnRoberts Not even close. Saw the itemized bill from the hospital the other day. Let me just say my hip cost more than either of my last two vehicles and more than my parents paid for the house I grew up in.

@DWDavis I guess you didn't get the full six million dollar man treatment!

Wow, that is great! I haven't been using my fitbit due largely to the humidity..but I may start again in the fall.

@DWDavis Yeah, I think calorie burning is greater earlier in the day, but I guess I prefer evenings.

Thank you. I understand about the humidity. Around here it is a choice between early in the morning with high humidity and relatively cool temps (below 80F, 24C) and higher humidity, or the late evening with lower humidity but higher temps (above 90F, 29C).

I am so glad to know you are doing well after your heart surgery. How does it feel to be back to work? Thank you for the kind word about my books.

Congratulations! I am glad you are feeling better and better. I'd lost ten pounds but gained a few back, but now I've dropped a couple and am hoping to continue my "downward progress".

Thank you, and WTG on your weight loss. I wish you well on your continued efforts to bring that number down. I, too, am trying to shed a few.
