I regularly wear a helmet if is use my two wheeler. How do you clean the inside of a helmet. The has some spongy cushion, thermacol etc. Obviously the sweat, oil and some hair does get stuck to it. How can I make sure it does not smell or become very dirty. I do wipe it once in a while.

Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) is supposed to be good for absorbing oil and dirt but it might go into the spongy cushion and make it speckled with white. Wet wipes as suggested by Lucinda sound a good idea.

I'm concerned that the soda may damage the spongy part or the thermocol

@pitstop I'm sure it wouldn't damage the material but it might make it appear discoloured.

You can use water and some mild soap. You can also use sterile wet wipes to clean it.

I'll try that. I have baby wipes for my little one which will probably be good. Thanks for the suggestion.
