Our state fair is a great state fair, and I'm going today! The weather is iffy but we have a massive indoor area, filled with displays, exhibits, and snake oil salesmen. (Ask Lori, she'll vouch for that.) Before any of that, I have to get into the "top three" of movies I'm sure "everybody" has seen. I know I have! Here's the next one on the list. #3: Star Wars (Episode IV: A New Hope) Somewhere on this planet there's a person who has not seen this movie. To quote Dylan, but it ain't me, babe. I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to see this. I thought it was massively overhyped, and anything that popular couldn't be good. WRONG. After I finally saw it (about a year after it was released, on a dollar matinee afternoon at the Alpha II Cinema...not that I remember that or anything) I kept going back. I think I saw it eight times in the theater. And, of course, countless times on TV since. A little clarification here: I have seen all three original films. I have not seen any of the "prequels," and I really have no desire to. But this one? And The Empire Strikes Back? Wowza. What great films. What stunning special effects (that people are still unsuccessfully trying to beat)! This isn't my favorite sci-fi movie, but it's dang close. And, although it took me a while to "jump on the bandwagon," so to speak, I'm glad I did. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Star Wars (Episode IV: A New Hope) Directed by George Lucas Released in 1977 Let the wookie win!

I saw Star Wars at a screening prior to release when no one had a clue as to what was about to unfold and the audience was blown away.

I have seen all the Star Wars movies. I want to see the new one coming out. Chris is more a Star Warts fan than me though.
