Good Wednesday morning to all, my fellow myLotters. How is life?
Since Sunday, I wanted to withdraw some amount in the bank through ATM, from my earnings in this site to buy medicines. I wasn't able to do so. Two ATM banks having the BANCNET logo did not grant me what I asked for.
Last Monday, since my son drove the car home (I rode on a tricycle with my colleagues ),I asked him to withdraw from the bank itself. I reminded him again at 5pm but he was not able to withdraw. The card was inactive.
Monday evening I phoned the bank and asked an employee there. (My sister looked at me and asked who should answer my call when it was already past 6pm-to which I said the employees are still there counting the money.)
I was instructed to go to the bank today because they will change my NEW ATM CARD which should expire on 2021 to another one that has not only the EMV but another security feature again.
I was able to withdraw on August 12, but my card was inactive already last August 15.
I am going before 9am today.Do you feel disappointed when you can't withdraw from the bank for reasons you don't know? I was.

I was always reminded before by BDO to get my new ATM with EMV chip or else I will not be able to transact using my old card after a certain date. What's frustrating is that, I had to go to my branch of account which is in QC...
Months after, they were replacing cards at ANY branch...

the card in this discussion has the EMV already at the back of this card. i was able to withdraw from Paypal to this card, and i withdrew last August 12 using this card. this new card has this 'sim' feature in front of the card was what is new. so, you went 'pa' to QC, hija?

Yes, last week I ask the boyfriend to withdraw the money I have here so that we can use it for my medicines. Then about to withdraw, he forgot the combination of the key codes and was told to try the card within 24 hours.
The following day he tried with the correct key codes and found out that it was less than 200 pesos remaining. I told him that we have 1000 plus in the card. I was so disappointed because how come it was 200 left when he did not withdraw from the last day. Then I found out why. I check my online bank card.

Really? These instances when we need money for our medicines and the bank prevents us from doing so. I haven't enrolled in online banking yet though I was given the steps to do. Once I tried, I had many errors that I was automatically logged off.
Is it Land Bank too hija?

@ridingbet From what I know the EMV should be on the front of the card. I just do not know if Land bank has their own way of putting it on the back. If it is an ATM it usually does not have an expiration date. Maybe yours is a debit card.

the EMV was already at the back, that is why i replaced my oldest card last year and this one in the picture was the latest. there was the EMV at the back, then the latest has this other feature.

that is good to know. when you use your new card, automatically, the old card will be rendered useless.

@ridingbet The first time I use the new, the old one becomes useless. I cut the old cards in small pieces and throw them.

Very true. I withdraw from the bank only when I'm in need of money. So if I cannot, it does disturb me a lot

will you wait for your card to expire or you go to your bank and have it renewed before its expiry date?

i stayed too long in the bank this morning. i waited for the new card to be given so i won't go back there anymore. the location of the bank is so far from where i live.

bpi said the same thing to mother, assuring her on her last visit she can still use her pension atm even without the emv chip. but i was very doubtful and i was right. when we tried using it about 1-2 weeks later, the machine cannot recognize it. then another week or two later, they texted her that her new card with emv chip is ready and she should go to fill up new bank forms.
i wonder what new additional security feature landbank will add on top of the emv chip?

there was the EMV at the back of the card in my previous card (the one in the picture) . that chip in the front of the card was what the lady employee said as a security feature.
