Having finished the first half of this journey into films, it's time to begin the second half. It's similar to the first, in that I'm taking a theme -- classic, or massively critically-acclaimed films -- and critiquing them. This is broken down into two segments: films I loved, and those I wish I hadn't seen. The reasons vary as to why, too. Let's start at the bottom of the top ten.
#10: Amadeus
Yawn. Well, there's three hours of my life I can't get back.
I don't have anything against "epic" films (translation: a 90-minute story told in three hours or more). I loved Gandhi. But this one?

And I was thinking that I'd love it because, hey, it's music! Nope. I think a lot of it has to do with Tom Hulce bringing too much of his Animal House work (he played Pinto in that movie) to the role of Wolfgang Mozart.
The costumes were fabulous, and the music was terrific. But it was way too boring for my tastes. Guess I won't be marrying Figaro, huh?

That one I liked. I found the interplay between characters Mozart and Salieri interesting. A jealous and resentful Salieri's deception in bringing down Mozart made for an intriguing plot. I did hate the Mozart laugh though. It would have worked much better in Animal House where Hulce (Mozart) played the role of "Pinto," the inept freshman who pledged with Delta.

You know the angel/devil scene in Animal House, where the angel has a high-pitched voice? That’s probably where the Mozart laugh came from.

Oh, the ones you "have to watch" for a class are the worst!

@FourWalls because you're not just watching it passively. you're following the storyline but also observing all the other elements you have to comment on

I know many loved Amadeus. I think overrated and boring movie. I can top you: I actually saw a stage production of Amadeus. It was a free ticket and you just sort grit your teeth and try not snoring for the sake of the person you are with.
