I have been going through my growing pub sign collection copying images to thematic folders, so now all my royalty signs ae together, signs with soldiers have their own folder (as well as alphabetical signs set out county by county and town by town). Some signs appear in multiple folders, for example, Queen Victoria pubs are listed under history, women and royalty.
My collection folder of funny signs is perhaps my favourite and includes this gem.
It is not unknown for animals to get drunk. Elephants have been known to consume raw hops just to get high. Animals getting at brewery grain stores and alcohol In pubs and breweries is also not unknown.
Some drinkers deliberately pike a pub cat or dog’s water with beer or gin too.
Here the guzzlin' goose has actually got its own beer glass.
The antics suggest the customers are expected to make drunken gooses of themselves (goose is often slang for foolish and silly).
This goose doesn’t look drunk, just as if it is drinking and moving quite well.

Yes an Olympic goose that one.
I am well impressed at your organizing everything into folders too Arthur.
You are great to do so.
I sure would not want to get in the way of an elephant, let alone a drunk one.
I think I have been there done that lol
