This trip was not planned at all. I quickly grabbed up a few things and we were on our way. I only got a few books this time. A Press of Canvas by William H. White 0.75 The Names of Dead Girls by Eric Rickstad $2.00 The Painted Bridge by Wendy Wallace $5.00 Went by Barnes and Noble as well as Best Buy. Then went to a shop that we found out was now closed. It only closed last week and I am a little bummed by it. Google says it's still open so I'll probably write a review about it being closed. Too bad as well, because had I know they were going to be closing, I would have gone to buy up a bunch of books. That leaves me with three independent book stores in town now. Oh well..

Some of these smaller businesses can't make it with Amazon out there.

There are a few good used book stores still in Stayton and Salem, OR and I try to go see what they have. Many don't make it since Kindles are popular. I have one but like holding a real book to read.

I have a kindle as well, though it's broken. I use the kindle app on my computer. I also like holding a book, and since I am able to get these for "free".. .Well I am a bit addicted to this place. There's another shop I really need to give second chance to. The only problem is that it is really far across town.

Independent book stores that specialized in used are a dying thing as fewer people want to read real books.

This store was one of those "only a few locations" type places. There were others in other states. Atleast I assume they are affiliated. I called them because I went to the wrong location (where they used to be) and when we finally did find the location, we found a "sorry we closed the 18th of August" sign.
