What did you have for breakfast on this beautiful Saturday morning?

I ran into our Office Manager yesterday while I was turning in my syllabus for next semester. She was pushing a tray full of food left over from a meeting. She said "Take anything you want." I asked what the gushy stuff was and she said "Chicken salad. Take it." I did, along with four or five hard rolls. I brought the chicken salad home, added some Marie's blue cheese dressing to it, and had some for breakfast this morning on one of the hard rolls. Had part of an apple too. Yum! What did you have for breakfast on this lovely day?

I like fish curry! But all curries are slightly different. If I ever visit India, I will try to describe (to myself) the differences in the curries I taste.

@thislittlepennyearns My balcony corn is dying off (I'll have to check for ears), but the green beans are doing well. My sunflowers have come and gone. At Kaiser, the sunflowers DID bloom, but they're starting to fade now. I DID eat some nice cherry tomatoes when I picked up my meds yesterday. I'm not sure how the preschool garden is doing. I was on vacation for the last three weeks.

I'm a day late responding to this post, so I'll regale you with breakfast for yesterday and today. Saturday morning my missus and I enjoyed omelets at a family restaurant near the state fair grounds with our camping club prior to working at our clubs booth at the RV show. This morning, I prepared us sausage and egg scrambles with English muffins.

Sounds very "American," which I like. I'm trying to decide whether to have eggs with cheese, onion and pepper...or just a bowl of Trader Joe's version of Rice Crispies. Dang, is that how Kellogg's spells it? I can't recall!

@thehorse Double espresso and an almond croissant for me. A blue cheese and apple combo would be fine on crusty bread if you lose the chicken and the gungy mayo business. Still, if you aren't paying for it …..

Not a bad breakfast! Its after 1 o`clock here but I had a few chicken fingers with General Tso`s sauce, that was sort of breakfast/lunch combo. BUT I have cooked Dinner! a pot of dry beans, cooked till done, baby Lima`s and I have sliced okra and green tomatoes to fry later. I already have cornbread in the freezer, when I cook it I do a large iron skillet and freezer for meals.

Saw this discussion a bit late. I had some leftover fried stuff made of Buckwheat flour(we call them as "Kuttu ke Pakode" in Hindi), and bread with butter. Not a very healthy option, but we had to go somewhere in the afternoon, so had this.

I had a chicken salad sandwich with apples on it. And the say I do not eat healthy. By the way, you do everything people tell you. I would be inclined to listen to that one also. See, rationale and reasonable, big difference from straight rebellion that has nothing to do with anything.

That's not a bad breakfast. I had a coffee, but once we left home to come here to our son's place, my husband stopped at Tim Hortons, and we each ordered a coffee and I ordered a raisin tea biscuit for the drive down here. I don't like to eat a lot of doughie food (is that even a word) but it is very filling and I needed that.

@TheHorse No, I don't care for cake, or any form of it, even pancakes make that list in my eyes. And Tim Hortons started as a donut and coffee chain, but I don't do donuts either.

@Juliaacv I do donuts now and then, but I need milk or coffee. I'll take a thin sliver of dessert if chocolate cake is involved. I DO enjoy pancakes with butter and maple syrup about once a month.

@TheHorse Waffles are of Medieval origin, the first know Waffle recipe is French and the Maple syrup comes from French Canada, it's not so "American" after all.
