A band of Red

There is a band of red that intensifies in color, and then fades. Waxing and waning as it stretches cross the sky. The color on either side of this band is darkening, from a slate greyish blue to a darker blue that will be black by the time all is said and done. Now that reddish band is fading to be the same color as the sky itself. Yes, it's turning dark here, and I am sure I will soon look up to find nothing to see but the glow of the street light. What have I done today? I read "The Traitor's Wife" (nearly finished), I played a video game, I ate, I talked to people. I did the mundane chores of dish washing, shower scrubbing, sweeping. I earned online a little and I texted my sister a "Happy Birthday." It is her birthday as well as my cousin's birthday. I didn't text him. Maybe I'll finish this book tonight and choose another. I might turn on Britbox a little later, who knows. Ah, the sky is now all the slate grey, ever darkening.
