Key Largo, Romantic Flick or Gangster Film?

I'm listening to The Bridge on Sirius/XM radio this morning and the song "Key Largo" by Bertie Higgins. I had heard and listened to this song for years before I finally got a chance to see the movie KEY LARGO with Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Lionel Barrymore, and Edward G. Robinson.
Imagine my surprise upon seeing the movie, after having heard the song so many times over the years, to discover it was a gangster film and not a romantic flick. Instead of beautiful scenes of an island paradise, the setting was an island in the midst of a hurricane. Instead of lighthearted scenes of two people falling in love while sailing about the island, the movie was about a gangster, played by Robinson, holding a hotel's guests and owners hostage until the storm passed and he could make the crossing to Cuba for an illicit rendezvous of the criminal kind.
Ever since seeing the movie, I cannot listen to the Bertie Higgins song with anything but contempt for the way he bamboozled me all those years.
Have you ever had a song ruined for you by a movie or video that changed your perception of the song?

Key Largo is a great classic film directed by John Huston. Claire Trevor won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
