Does anyone know how to recover (for free) photos that were accidentally deleted on a Samsung J7? I tried going through the Google photo app, but for some reason it saved some photos from April and May, as well as July, but the zoo photos my husband took in June are gone. I can't afford to pay to recover them and I know there is free software for computers, but not for the phone.
Also, for some reason I am having problems connecting phones to my computers. I made this plural, because I have 2 desktop and one laptop computers, and I've used different cords, including the cord that came with the phones, and we have 2 phones, but the computer isn't reading it. So it isn't a problem with a 1)computer 2) cords, and 3) phones. What else could be the problem?

You can always remove the card from the phone and read it on a card reader on a computer. If the photos were deleted, you have a chance to recover them if they were stocked on the card with a computer software. On the main memory partition, which is a Linux partition, it will be quite impossible if they have been deleted in June, the system has probably already overwritten them.

Okay, um, not sure which computer, if any, has a card reader. I know my printer does have one, would that work?

@Carmelanirel2 I do not think you will be able to analyze the card if it is on your printer. Laptops have usually a SD card reader, but you need probably a micro-SD adapter, they are sold together with micro-SD phone cards.

@topffer I have an older laptop (the same year Windows 8 came out) and I texted my son, who built my computer, to see if it has a card reader. I have to leave now, but will look into this. If my computers don't have one, maybe the library does and I can download them there and then up[load them into my husband's drive.

@May2k8 I forgot to do this and now my husband left for the day. (I didn't mention it, but it wasn't me who deleted all the photos from the phone.

Turning the cell phone off? I guess it's worth a try since I haven't found an adapter yet.

Yes, however my husband didn't have that set up. Hopefully we can get them back and then I am going to set it so any pictures he takes goes into the cloud.
