Today, I will teach you how to cook Mot-Deng Kai soup, one of the famous dishes from the North of Thailand.
Ingredients:
3 pieces of lime,
a bunch of mint leaves,
morning glory leaves,
lemongrass,
salt (to taste),
chili (to taste) and, of course,
the most important of all eggs of the red ants.
Procedure:
Boil all ingredients in lime with water. When the soup is boiling, put the red ants' eggs (make sure that all adult red ants are busy collecting food again.) Boil for 5 minutes, [but save the queen, please.
Then serve hot in a bowl.
Thai Lesson (mot = ants), (deng = red) and (kai = eggs)
Do you want to try?

What will you use instead of red ants' eggs? This is high in protein.

@Mavic123456 Maybe just a regular egg. High in protein as well and much more palatable.

I think I will try that soup if there are no red ants eggs. I am not so adventurous when it comes to exotic foods. The most exotic food I like is only "balut" .

it is not that bad. it is very clean actually. but yes, I can't eat balut looking at it. I usually eat it as a whole. and if I feel the beak .. i throw up.

I had ant eggs before and they are kind of sour and tasty.

I didn't know that it really sour. because the soup was cooked with lime. maybe that's the reason why they are cooking it that way.
