People Are Strange Sometimes

United States

His window faced the rusted metal building that had seen better days. It wouldn't take much to clean the building out and re-purpose it, and so, for whatever reason, he did. It only took a few hours with the help of a friend, and then the fun began. The couch was a bit of a hassle to get into the building, and the flooring was uneven because of the land it sat on. The t.v. stand and television helped to counteract that a bit. There was nothing that could help the smell. That came from the couch, the stench of cigarettes, and of unshaven, unclean, man. I only went into the building a handful of times, but then this stint didn't last too long. The man packed everything up, and returned to his old room with his tail between his legs. His friend, who had been staying with him, soon packed his things up and went to face the music at home.

I wonder why he went to live in a metal building. It had to be uncomfortable (hot, maybe cold) inside there.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It sure was foolish. I wonder where his head was at.

@velvet53 He soon learned, I guess, but you know there is no telling with the fellows sometimes.I didn't much like the guy, but I think he started to grow out of his immature ways shortly before I stopped talking to him.

I can't remember what time of year it as. I feel like it was nearing Autumn. Either way, it was a ridiculous thing to do.

That happened a very long time ago and I suppose the building was in very bad shape.

It was a metal storage building. It was rusted.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Once the metal is attacked by rust there is not a lot to do.

@LadyDuck Very True. I'm still not sure why he got it in his head to live in the metal building with one of his friends though.

The building isn't there anymore. Well, I think it's not there. It's been years since I was there.

I think I would have gotten rid off the stinky couch and stayed on if the rent was good. Not much you can do about stinky men if they won't take a shower.

I think you missed something in the writing. This wasn't a place that should have been lived in at all. It was a metal storage building. *edit* I just re-read it and see where it could be misconstrued.

@RubyHawk It has been several years since this happened. I'd say, oh about 2008? So I couldn't really tell you the reason why. I hardly remember why he decided to do it, and I am not even sure if I remember that correctly.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I understood it was a storage building but they moved into it. So I wondered why they didn't stay.
