Swearing Up a Storm

There are guys working on electrical lines to update the system on a number of lots. They are about five feet from my desk. One of the guys has been swearing all morning and every other word starts with "f". It is getting annoying. I was married to a Marine so I am not shocked by curse words but this guy just keeps on. Should I risk going out to ask them to tone it down, that I can hear them? Should I report them to the electric company? What do you think about people working who talk this way? Am I being a wuss? Have you heard people swearing on the job when near others?

He probably doesn't know he's doing it. I don't like your chances if you front them about it.

Probably and I don't want to risk getting beat up or him doing something weird to my electric. I wonder if I should tell the electric company. I don't know his name, though.

@JudyEv I thought about that too. Someone is out there again today but they are only talking in a normal way. That guy is not there. I wonder if the lady in back of me said something. She hates that kind of language.

@akalinus They could just have a general talk about the bad language in the public arena without naming anyone.

If done repeatedly then it is definitely annoying. You should go ahead and tell him

They don't like troublemakers in the park. I am afraid to put up a fuss, but I wish I could turn it down.

He sounds like an idiot. I would tell them you can hear them..and you find the language offensive.

I went outside and they are gone. The area in back of my place is filled in and nobody lives in the next spot. I still want to know how people feel about this in general.

You can always be polite at letting him/them know that it is creating a bit of unhealthy environment and it might going to be beneficial for him because sometimes there are people who don't know what they're doing unless somebody is going to tell them straight what is wrong

I would be afraid of them messing up my electric. I think they are done on this section, I did not hear them today or half of yesterday.

Some people are really rude, if he keeps saying curse words better avoid him, probably he has bad temper.

That could be true. People get attacked for very little reason these days. Thanks.

With some people swearing is as natural as saying 'hello'. Maybe they are not even aware that they are being offensive.

I wonder if they realize that people living here can hear them. They aren't there right now, maybe it is lunch time.
