Alcor was founded in 1972 by Fred and Linda Chamberlain. It was founded in the hope of preserving humans to be restored later when technology has advanced to such a state that the body can be restored to full physical and mental health.
As of January 31, 2017 there are 1,618 members have been prepared and immersed in a 10 feet tall tube that can house four full bodies and six brained. They are immersed in liquid nitrogen at -196 degrees just hours after natural death and preserved.
Cryonics? Is this something you would do?
Cryonics at Alcor Life Extension Foundation, the world's leading cryonics organization since 1972. Information on cryonics, cryobiology, nanomedicine, and neuroscience.
