I am so looking forward to dinner tonight. Right now, even as we speak, I am making a big pot of Dried Navy Beans. I am really looking forward to dinner. The beans are bubbling on the stove at this moment. I have already added a chunk of ham for flavor and will be adding the carrots, celery, and onion to it later. The hubby doesn't eat beans so he will be having a piece of ham, eggs, and biscuits. Today has been so nice and peaceful so far. We've been doing the laundry and that type of thing. And planning the easiest way to get moved over to the other house. Fortunately we have downsized so much in moving here that it will look sort of empty when we move back over there. That's ok, we will have an excuse to go thrift store shopping. Oh boy. How is your Sunday shaping up?

Its another hot and sunny day here for us. We're planning on staying in where its cool-I got a bit too much sun yesterday and don't want to repeat that.

It's hot down here too. It should be about 92 degrees and there is 50% chance of rain this afternoon. DO indoors for us too.

I'll bet they're better if you wet them. My dad loved navy beans and their close relative, great northern beans.

I bought a big pack of baby Lima beans the other day. Put some ham hocks in them, cook them til the broth is creamy and have some rice and corn bread and maybe some potatoes. Man that's some good eating!

@HazySue I think my favorite kind of beans is pinto beans though, even the next day after I cook them, I will warm them up in a iron skillet with some rice and cut up some onions in them.

Today is the first day I've been anywhere in the car since Hurricane Florence made her debut. We went to church, then out to a local restaurant for lunch. (Had yummy chicken tacos and fries), now myLotting with you all. Your beans sound so good, I love a good pot of dry beans like pintos, navy, and black eyed peas.

@HazySue We were so blessed to not have any damage. I feel so sorry for all the people who got flooded. I can't imagine how horrible that is.

So do I. What's nice is they have so much fiber and protein in them. Glad you guys are able to get around now that Florence has left you.

@HazySue I'm okay today, I will stay up for a few more hours working on stuff, and then take a nap for a little while. And then get up and get ready for my overnight shift.

I am so glad you are getting on the moving part Susan and do not have much to move. Those beans are so good for you, glad you are having them. It sounds lovely your meal later today. It is sunny here, hot later on, and I am fasting again today. Having only banana smoothies. It is helping me get toxins out. I hope your Sunday is peaceful.

Dried beans are good for you. I am so glad I like them. Hope those toxins get the heck out of the body. Tonight I am having chili made with dried pinto beans. I typically make a ton and give half to my sister-in-law. She loves it.

We never ate these types of beans as kids so we don't eat them now - or even know how to cook them. We do have them when we visit our son in Ireland as they eat them.

Actually if you follow the directions on the package you can't go wrong. I add salt pork to mine. To me it adds the best flavor.

My day is good so far. I love beans! I make pork and beans with navy beans, well I leave out the pork, but you know what I am talking about. I am the only one here that will eat the navy beans as they are. I home canned pinto`s, I think I will make burritos today, using those.

That should be great with home canned pinto's. I use navy beans to make baked beans when we are having a lot of company.
