Have You Eaten A Scorpion?

Scorpions are known to be poisonous and deadly. So I was really hesitant to eat one. But after seeing my friend eat one and surviving, I went for it when I visited Bangkok. It was 80 Baht for 1 piece. And it tasted like something crispy almost like chicken skin but not as good. Bucket list ticked. Have you guys tried eating scorpion? Would you dare try?

I've never tried eating a scorpion, but I've been stung by one before! I have, however, eaten chocolate-covered crickets and ants.

Oh you should to eat one to get back to the one that stung you. What happened after the sting? I will only eat crickets if they are very much disguised. While ants I usually eat by accident in some occasions

@moffittjc I think not remembering the pain but remembering the memory is a good thing. It’s like you have a cool story without the trauma that came with it. Time to think travel then. There are plenty in the markets of Thailand.

@flapiz I was stung by a scorpion when I was little, so I don't really remember what happened afterward. I do remember my dad stepping on the scorpion with his boot to kill it, but I don't remember anything about the pain I may have felt from the sting. I guess that's a good think, right? haha I wouldn't mind trying a bite of scorpion, but I don't know anywhere around here where I could get one to eat!

I do not know if I would even put one in my mouth. I have been to Bangkok but never tried it. My friend just did a frog in Paris

I’d rather eat scorpion than a frog. Unless I am not told it’s a frog. How is it cooked?

@aureliah Some Filipinos who ate it says the same. But if it oooks like frog I can’t stomach it. If it’s chopped I may? Just thinking about it gives me goosies.

Maybe buy the tiny one. It’s less scary. I picked the tiniest one I could see.

That’s very true. Although I’m horrified at how expensive some food got.

Hahaha your reaction is funny. I guess people don’t really eat it cause they like it. It’s more like eating for the sake of bragging rights.

I think there are more and more insects and other exotic creatures are becoming a delicacy right now. I never tried once but I'm not sure if I would try ever. I never eat "balut" which is a favorite of many Filipino.
