Stand By Your Man

I'm sitting here listening to Tammy Wynette, one of the all-time queens of country music in America. When I was singing country music years ago, I always wanted to sing like her.
"Stand By Your Man" is one of my favorite songs of hers. But I do get a good laugh every time I hear the line, "And if you love him, oh, be proud of him,
'Cause after all he's just a man."
Wow, what a passive/aggressive statement. You know, you girls should stand by your guy, no matter what because, really, he can't help being an idiot at times. He's just a man.
Maybe Tammy wasn't such a sweet little wife to George after all.
