I Don't Know If It Is Soothing Or Annoying!

I am at the library, and you know how silent the library can be. Well, somewhere close by someone is playing pan flute music at quite a high volume. I am not sure if I am finding this music soothing or annoying. They are playing some familiar songs and I find myself quietly humming along to those, but some of the songs are making me want to block my ears!
Do you find someone playing loud music annoying or do you just enjoy their music with them? I wish people would realise not everyone has the same taste in music.

Normally, I don't mind the music, but if I'm trying to concentrate on something, or if I'm trying to sleep, then it would bother me.

@bluesa That's interesting that the coffee shop chose to play the music so loudly so close to a library.

I love music but I like to choose what I listen to. So, if I don't like what I hear then I do something to block it out.

Noises are not allowed in libraries here. I would be more annoyed than relaxed.@bluesa (15023)

@LadyDuck Yes, we were all stuck having to listen to the music. I didn't mind when they played "Que Sera Sera" I hummed very quietly along to that but most of the music was sad. And they couldn't close the library doors because it was a hot day. Oh it was almost painful!

I must admit I do find listening to other peoples over loud music really annoying especially when it is not a genre you are keen on. I think sometimes people are just selfish.

And also so annoying that they're listening so loud at the library. Looks like a case for a dirty look at least!

if in a library, it is expected complete silence.
was there no librarian to call the attention of that person playing the flute? what did this person think, there is a music room in the library?

It was a coffee shop outside of the library that we finally figured out the music was coming from @ridingbet and we couldn't close the library doors because the day was too hot. We might as well have had a music room in the library that day

When I'm in a library and if someone plays a melody its definitely a distraction.... We can't say its annoying. But definitely its a disturbance

Some flute and recorder music are so nice, they could make me almost want to cry. (Times like that, I always wish I could use those musical instruments . I promptly change my mind later of course .) Will head to youtube to see how pan flute music/sound goes. (I'm listening to an album by Leo Rojas right now, very beautiful. Did your musician play that good?)
