I missed this gripping spy drama on its TV screening but it is currently on Freeview on the BBC I-Player.
A deadly female assassin called Villanelle is rampaging her way round Europe, upsetting her superiors by enjoying her work with great sociopathic relish.
In the UK, a desk-duty MI5 agent, Eve Polastri, becomes obsessed with the case and develops her own theories and she is the first to conclude that the killer is female. Her ideas are ignored so she begins her own investigation. She interviews a rare surviving witness just before Villanelle kills the witness.
Eve is fired from her job but secretly recruited by another branch of MI5 to go after the killer, and though playing a deadly game of cat & mouse across Europe the women admire one another way too much.
Superbly acted, especially by Sandra Oh (best known for her role in Grey's Anatomy) and Jodie Comer as Villanelle.
Violent, especially in Villanelle's brilliantly staged murders), quirky and sometimes shocking in its twists & turns, this is compelling viewing over its eight one hour episodes.

We've just binged this. Absolutely loved it. I'm pretty sure it's still only halfway through if youre watching it old school, on BBC1 though.

@arthurchappell I know? I was just saying that I think it's still being shown weekly on BBC1. That's where we caught the first episode before binge-watching the rest on iPlayer.

I saw Killing Eve and have to say I ultimately disliked it. Illogical conclusion to set up the next season.

@JohnRoberts there were four books so they may well be aiming at doing the whole quartet
