Can snakes climb walls and pipes?

We live on the 5th floor. There are occasional snake sightings in the garden and paths in the ground floor. My wife is scared they will climb to the 5th floor on the wall or pipes or the stairs. Can snakes actually do that? Have any of your had a snake tech the higher floors of an apartment or home?

I'm sorry to say but I think snakes can climb up most things. They can certainly climb trees as I've seen one doing that. I'm not sure if a 'collar' of some sort round a pipe might stop them but there would still be the problem of the walls and stairs.

Sounds scary! I can understand about the pipes, but wasn't sure about walls that are vertical.

As long as the wall is not slippery, snakes can climb it.

i doubt they'd climb a wall,but a pipe wouldn't be much of a problem..

Pipes sound easy. But friends here at Mylot sea telling me that they can climb walls too. That is scary.

Yes, I think so. I heard snakes just can't move on the glass because it is so smooth.
