Spitting on streets

Today morning i was going to buy milk and curd, i crossed the street to go to the shop.
There is a bus stop near that area, i saw a person sitting at the back of the bus spitting on the street.
There were vehicles going on, still he just didn't care.
It is really irritating to see that kind of behaviour first thing in the morning.
Just yesterday we had Gandhi Jayanti and the news talked a lot about the importance of hygiene and cleanliness. I think he forgot about it today.

That's a nasty habit. At one point I was sharing a rented flat with another person. We had different schedules and interests, but one day, as I was preparing to go out, he wanted to join me. I said ok, no problem. That's until we were out and he started spitting. I told him to stop, it's a very ugly habit and I went my way. A few days later he left the flat

This is an epidemic in India. People from all walks of like including educated ones just spit on the streets. Even in areas where there are restrooms and dustbins, they spit in public. They refuse to change. If you ask them to stop, they act rude and ask us to mind our own business.

I agree with you completely
I had to tell my father a lot of times to make him stop doing that, now he doesn't do it. I am thankful for that.
But it will take some serious bugging from others to make them stop. It will lot of time as well. I find it very strange that we keep our homes clean but not our streets, we walk on them daily.

when i see a spit on the street in front of our gate, i feel nauseous. especially if the saliva has phlegm. oh goodness.

@vsai2008 i am used to seeing these bronchial discharges, but i think the ordinary person cannot.
