Rear facing child car seat - how long did you use it?

My daughter is a little more than one year old and not very big built. So she is still in her rear facing Child car seat. Experts say that babies and infants are better and safer in the rear facing positions. She is quite comfortable in this position and has not yet outgrown the recommended length, so we're happy to keep her that way. Till what age did you keep your children rear facing?

They didn't have very many options where our children were little. They were all mostly around the same size and faced forwards.

Yes. Safety recommendations have been changing with available evidence and better technologies.

I imagine children like facing forward at a certain age but they do need to be properly seated no matter which way they are facing. Interesting question. I have no clue. Most of us sat in the back seats of cars and faced forward as I remember.

@pitstop , I was looking at a television commercial for Farmer's Insurance and they showed a baby in the middle of the two front car seats, mounted on the back of the two front seats, facing the rear of the car.
