I'm too fuddy duddy for a Hoodie ! / myLot

What is it with Hoodies ? I really don't get it ! In my day ….( oh dear, of she goes again ….) ...is was quite the done thing to be wearing a hood ….until you were about 5 years old ! After that it was not a fashion statement, cool, the thing to be seen wearing.....yet now ...The world and his wife are wearing hoodies.... But why …? People wear them at any age and in any weather....surely in the middle of summer you do not need to wear a hoodie. Anyone passed teenage years should not even OWN a hoodie, let alone wear one ! I find in some cases it is quite rude to wear one ….covering your ears and face ...hoodie folk rarely communicate ….to each other or others … Maybe it is just an age thing ….but I am not a fan !

Hoodies are okay. I don't own one, but if I found one I really liked, I probably would. They have fairly negative connotations because of their use by chavsters, but they can be warm and snuggly.

I agree that they are not particularly fashionable, and don't like them myself. I haven't seen an abundance of them, but they seem to have their niche.

I like mine when it's cold as my ears play up in cold weather and because the hood is attached your neck is also a bit warmer. And you can't take the hood part off when you don't need it. I agree that sometimes it's like wearing blinkers.
