like a STUDENT.

My son looks young to be a teacher. Most often, he is thought of as a student. When he let my clearance slip be signed by our dean of the college of nursing and the clinical coordinator, the secretary of the department asked my son what college course is he enrolled at, so he said he is a Philosophy teacher for Senior high school. He is shy in telling me some of his students are infatuated to him. I and my sister are also endlessly cautioning him to not be too familiar with his students. This afternoon, he left to have his thick hair trimmed. Now, he looks more of a college student. I want to take a picture of him but he declined. I then told him his hair will grow longer again. He said he won’t have his hair trimmed in that famous saloon again, which is expensive according to my standards. He is going back to the barber shop that cut his hair since he was still 10 years young.

He must be too young to be and good looking for his girl students. I don't want to be trimmed also at the salon because they're charging much compare to the barbers shops. I have this permanent shop also which is charging very minimal but I always leave a tip to the barber because I learned that the sharing of the charge is half.

it is David's salon, and it was P200 per hair trim. the barber shop where he lets his hair trimmed costs only P60. that is why my son said that is the 1st and last hair trim he will have there.

The most important is that he keeps the distance with his students. Even if he looks young (in fact he is young) he must show that he is professional.

that is what i always tell him, to not be too familiarized with his students. it is enough he accepted some students as friends on Facebook. he said he needed to if there are assignments the class must know. he did not give his mobile phone numbers to them.

@ridingbet He was right not to give his mobile phone number. I would have opened a separate Facebook account only to use for the students, if this is needed for assignments.

It must be frustrating for him to be considered a student. I think the barber will be happy to have him as a customer again.

he is not frustrated; in fact, he is elated to be thought of as a college student. but he is serious with his profession and like me, he is bent on sharing his knowledge about Philosophy to his students. he actually bought loud speakers for his laptop; he said 'now his students will listen to what he wants to share'.

Oh no, you might have a daughter-in-law soon if your son finds his true love at work.

actually, he has a crush on one of his co-teachers. i already met the sweet lady. his students call my son 'dad' and the lady teacher 'mom'. my son though is not keen on having a girlfriend now. it is his first job as a teacher and he wants to work first and foremost

It's good to look young and flattering to think he's a student.

@ridingbet It's his downtime. No need to look professional all the time.

@just4him me as well. at home, i can use tee shirts with holes in its sleeves, and sometimes my students bring their manuscripts at home, and i tell them not to do that because we also MUST HAVE our own ME time.

yes, he really looks like a student. when he fetches me in the hospital with shorts, t shirt, and eating something, i would tell him he really does not look professional, to which he remarks,''only when i am not in uniform".

I am so glad he likes his old barber shop better. The salons can be too expensive too. Yes I bet he is handsome too your son and those students like him but indeed better as you say he does not be too familiar. I know he is doing a great job and you are proud of him Ingrid.

yes i am so proud of him. he will be going to a locality this Friday to coach students on story-telling competition again. i gave him some pointers like the students/competitor which he should coach, should relate the story as if she is at home and the kids are seated on the floor.

yes, he is now enjoying his profession. i thought he will not be very confident in teaching students since this is his first time to teach, but he is doing it with full of confidence. he is concentrated in making quizzes for his students and when he sees low grades, he makes remedial quizzes as well.
