Last weekend was my birthday and the day before, it was my grandson's birthday and my daughter's present to us both was to take us to stay in a theme park. Milton Keynes is a new town in central England and the last thing I thought I would ever say was that I stayed in a beach hut on the sand in Milton Keynes.
The theme park has all these different huts to stay in. Ours was a tiny beach hut on sand, by a lake. We had a plastic bird and several large plastic tortoises to keep us company. Turned out we were one of two families on the entire complex.
The hut was such fine. It had just enough room for two bunk beds and a double, a fridge, a microwave and an ensuite where the sink was actually on top of the toilet cistern.
Friday night we went to a splash zone and well ..er splashed and went down water slides and got wet.
Saturday we began with the rides. So cool. This theme park was for 3-13 year olds and as my daughter said, "there are rides even you won't be scared of." My favourite and coolest part of the day was to go on all these JCB diggers you could try out.
We went on boats and Pirate swings and roundabouts and all sorts.. Six year old Noah and friend had walkie talkies and managed to constantly pick up the frequency for the theme park staff.
Then we went to the dinosaur park and enjoyed all the dinosaurs. It was fun although an anthropologist I was not too convinced by the talking dinosaur. The boys loved it,
On Sunday after my Grandson was in bed he collapsed in fits of giggles. My daughter asked why.
"Nan-Nan's face on the Pirate swing. It was priceless," he said. (I am not known for my love of heights even if on a Pirate swing for 3-13 year olds.)

@arthurchappell No, we did not see those. We saw the less famous plastic ones in the theme park. It was odd as they had these, but also real ones.

And I thought Milton Keynes was nothing but roundabouts and concrete cows! Sounds like you had fun!

So did I. Apparently Gulliver's Kingdom has been there all along. It is for 3 to 13 year olds, but the grown ups enjoyed it too.
