Today is an oldie but goodie song. I recognize the song with only the first few notes. Whiter Shade of Pale by the band Procol Harum debuted this song in 1967. This particular video was restored and seems to be the original. Since then many artists have done this song. I prefer the original.
Rarely has a song proven so troublesome. A Whiter Shade of Pale, surprisingly declared by the BBC to be the most played song in public places in the past 75 years, has also famously been the subject of a bitter feud between founding members of Procol Harum. This is the only backstory I could find.
Do you remember this song? Do you have a favorite song to share?

A classic tune. Believe it or not, the other day a radio station here in Denver actually played a Procol Harum song that wasn't this one. I was shocked.

I have loved this song as long as I can remember, Carol! It was a little before my time so I kind of grew up with it. I think the 45 came on 'permanent loan' from a mate's big brother
