Weekend is here!!! That means time for a fall foliage drive!!! But first, I have to do a little work and a little myLotting. For the latter, I'll give you another song by the Steve Miller Band that ranks among my favorites. I say "band" because a couple of these do not feature Steve as lead singer. And here's one of them....the one you all (cough-cough-John) have been waiting for.
#3: Baby's Callin' Me Home
That's right. It's Boz Scaggs time!!
Scaggs and Miller were in the same band in high school in Dallas. They went their separate ways for a little while, then reunited in San Francisco. Scaggs was a member of the Steve Miller band for the first two albums, then left for a solo career that would eventually take him to platinum status and Grammy awards in 1976 ("Lowdown" won best R&B song that year).
During his tenure in the SMB Scaggs sang lead on four songs: this one and "Stepping Stone" were on the first album, and "Overdrive" and "Dime-a-Dance Romance" were on Sailor (released later in 1968). This is the only ballad of the four, a simple and quiet song with that signature Boz Scaggs voice evident.
It's a gem, and shows the good things that were to come for Boz.

I couldn't get it to come up. So I went directly to You Tube, and got an error message. So I restarted my phone. It was worth the effort. Good song.
