my heaters broke,and i'm so tired..

or more accurately,my furnace wire. we tried to kick it over this week,nada. oh,the furnace itself is working..the wire to the thermostat isn't. we originally thought,ok..needs new thermostat again. nope. removed the old one,and found the wire was cloth covered. as in pre-1940. i can't print what i said here.. long story short,here comes another bill i wasn't planning on for rewiring. appearently,when my grandma had the house redone,she forgot that one. just my luck. *sigh* at least it wasn't december when i found out..

theres still a lot of wiring like that around here, few years ago, i helped to strip out some old house insulation, its insulation was newspaper from wwII ! i think i spent a lot of time reading than i did working.

yea,i've seen shredded 1920's papers fall out of the wall i've got to admit it is an interesting distraction.especially if it's a whole article..

@scarlet_woman - yeah. these were whole pages just stuffed into the wall. originally i wanted to keep a few pages, i even put a few to the side, but they got tossed away accidently. there were a couple that i wanted to frame.

Goodness nothing cloth covered is allowed here, those things can catch fire.
