Pumpkin has been found to be a major ingredient in better food choices for pets. It has good flavor and they get just as full as with other pet foods. It is helpful in diet food for obese animals and it absorbs water in the intestines. Pumpkin also helps to keep the immune system strong, helps with digestive issues.
About one tablespoon of pure pumpkin is good for a cat and can help with fir balls. One to two tablespoons, depending on the size, a few times a week for a dog. Also, for dogs, this can help with diarrhea.
Pumpkin has potassium and iron and is an excellent source of beta-carotene and Vitamin A. It is also a good source of fatty acids and the seeds have antioxidants in them.

My dogs get Diamond naturals which is meat and rice. Rice is good for them too. The cats will also get into it sometimes.
