a slice of czechia

Mumma and me {appalling, I know, but it's all about alliteration Arthur} went to The Czech Republic, or Czechia, call it what you will. I haven't been since the February of 2010, although this was my seventh visit since the Easter of 1992. It always surprise me, the changes that have occurred in between my visits. This time it was the influx of Korean tourists and Vietnamese restaurants. We even found a Costa on Václavské námestí, and that wasn't weird at all. We walked oodles, spent time with Big Brother and my beautiful and intelligent Czech nieces {the fifteen year old is now taller than me!}, briefly encountered my Czech SiL when she wasn't busy working, became experts at using the buses, trams and the Metro, visited places we had seen before, and stumbled into places we hadn't been to before. We ate fried cheese, pancakes, and delicious goulashes piled high with tempting dumplings. It was bliss. It was relaxing. It was a welcome break. And I even survived both the flight out and the flight back. No tears or panicky anxiety. Go Me! Yesterday I was reunited with Husband and cats, and at some point we will endeavour to eat a meal out to celebrate twelve years of weddedness ... our anniversary was last Sunday. Twelve years! My, how time flies. I love being able to visit family in far-flung places, but sometimes the homecoming is far more satisfying. *smile*

@Poppylicious I am sure it's a beautiful country, I have seen the photos taken by my brother, who has been to Prague several times.

Wonderful photos. Glad you had a great visit. I too hate flying but at least I made it back to the states also in one piece. Happy Anniversary to you and many more years of bliss.

Thank you! I have never been on a long flight. The thought of so many hours in a lump of metal being magically held up miles in the sky fills me with both fear and wonder. I shall do it one day!

@poppylicious I was wondering where you had disappeared to. Flying is always such a vexatious duty, yet we always go back for more. I do hope your wedding’s 12th birthday has been enjoyable.
