What I'll Be Eating When I Get Back On Keto....

Some know what Keto is....but for those who don't it is a low carb/high fat/moderate protein diet. You eat 5% of your calories from carbs, 70 to 75 % from fat and the rest from protein. That may seem crazy, but it has helped a lot of people. A lot think that fat is bad for you, and that's true if you eat it with carbohydrates. So you may wonder what foods I'll be eating when I cut out the carbs... Fats: butter, mayo, coconut oil, olive oil, mct oil or powder nuts/seeds: peanut butter, almond butter, almond flour, coconut flour (I could eat other low carb nuts/seeds, but I am just including foods I will eat) proteins: beef, poultry, pork, fish, eggs carbs: spinach & blueberries (in the form of a smoothie) dairy: cheese, sour cream, heavy cream, almond "milk" other: mustard, reduced sugar ketchup, cocoa powder, ranch dressing, alfredo sauce There are other low carb vegetables and fruits that you can have, but I am a picky eater and the only way I can get any form of them in right now is in a smoothie. I will try to incorporate them in my diet as soon as I can....but when I start I won't be including them. If you know of any good recipes with these foods, I would love some ideas. I have a book of recipes, but it is always nice to find some new ones. Edit: I forgot to add sugar substitutes: I use stevia and/or erythritol (swerve). And it may not be keto necessarily, but I still drink diet sodas/ sugar free energy drinks. Photo via --->

I still have sweets, they are just made with erythritol instead of sugar. I forgot to add that! I'll be posting a lot more about it starting Monday.

I find that cutting back on sugar simply does wonders. Grapes instead of raisins is one way to cut down on excess sugar intake.

Yes, cutting back on sugar does help a lot. I find that I have to cut carbs back really low though to keep my sugars under control.

I don't think I would be able to do the diet if I could drink only water. I should try to drink more water than I do though. Thanks for the reminder!
