The Exquisite Vocals of Izzy

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, I used to buy my music either in cassettes or CDs. Yeah. That's ancient history. Now that we have YouTube, I can find almost any kind of music, listen at my leisure, create playlists (which I've never done but at least I know that I can), etc. I enjoy listening to spiritual hymns and can remember many songs from my childhood that became a permanent part of my psyche. In searching for a particular song I discovered a wonderful singer by the name of Izzy. Strange name? Sounded strange to me, so I looked up its meaning at babynamespedia.com. The name which is like a nickname for “Isobel” has 3 different meanings in three different languages. Hebrew: God is perfection; God is my oath Spanish, English: emerald Old Greek meaning: gift of Isis Her real name is Isobel Cooper but she is best known as ‘Izzy’. (Official website: izzysings.com) She's not so easy to Google. I had no idea there were so many other artists named “Izzy”. Anyway. I liked the hymn she performed in one of the YouTube videos “Be Still My Soul”. But I felt like the orchestra drowned out her beautiful vocals. Izzy sings both classical or opera music, folk music, and religious music and she's a soprano. If you like Sarah Brightman then you'll probably like Izzy. Sharing this music video for those who enjoy this kind of music.
A haunting song from the singer Izzy. the video was created by film maker Dave McKean. I think it is one of the most beautiful video's I have seen

"Una furtiva Lagrima" is the romanza from act 2 of the Italian opera L'elisir d'amore by Gaetano Donizetti. It is usually sang by a man, I prefer the versions from Pavarotti or Placido Domenigo.

I only listen to old music on YouTube, the 70s and some 80s. I have never tried more up to date or even recent stuff.
