Apple Orchards

Do you have these where you live? For a random outing me and my friend took our dads on a “surprise trip” and wound up at an apple orchard about 20 miles out of the city last Tuesday. It had been about 19 years since I had been to one. Her dad, whom I call my uncle, is the one with pancreatic cancer. He was feeling up for it and my dad has been out of work on workers Comp for a non life threatening shoulder surgery. The guys don’t have many hobbies and both felt up to it. So we went to the store where we all tried apple coffee (weird) and let them buy whatever they wanted at the shop. Then we walked around a little bit in the orchards and took some photos. Simple but kind of fun. I thought i remembered as a kid picking our own apples but at least at this orchard, you didn’t have that opportunity. Do you have these where you live?

Yes we have a huge all orchard on the outside of town and you can go get apple cider and a bunch of other stuff from there.

Do you have any similar thing where you live? It might be a midwestern or western thing.

Yes, there are apple orchards fairly nearby..they are plentiful in the Shenandoah Valley..I got turned off the last time I went to one though..because picking a few pounds of apples was like 17 dollars..geez..cheaper in the stores! Apple coffee sounds super different..did you try it?

I did! I think it would have been better with cream or milk but it was alright, just different! I was surprised at how inexpensive these bags of apples were. Like $4 for a big bag which is cheaper than most stores!

The weather where I live is too humid and warm for apple orchards. We do have mango and guava orchards around us.

Now that would be cool. We definitely do not have that here. I would love to go to a mango one!

Yes, we have some apple orchards not too far from the city and I used to go often with the kids but haven't been in the last few years as I can go to the market and buy the apples. It's not the same but I don't have a car anymore.
