Parent-teacher-student conferences

For the next three days, our school is having parent-teacher conferences to which the student also comes. Each parent goes with their student to each teacher to talk about the course and how they are doing. I don't talk to all the elementary parents so I only have 22 middle schoolers. I enjoy talking to parents who want their child to do well. I don't like having to tell them if their child is not focusing or concentrating in class though! Did you have parent-teacher conferences to which the child came? In my school days, the students were not allowed to go so that parent and teacher could talk about them privately!
