In fact sometimes in the world there is nothing that is completly correct or wrong, it just depends on the situation. I have thought a lot after watching a movie. I know the patent is important, but if the patent protects a medicine which can cure people but at the same time it is crazy expensive, I wish that this medicine would not be available because it is worse that you could be saved but at the end you have to die painfully since you can't afford to the medicine. I don't know whether it is real or not, but if Indian government doesn't protect the patented medicine so that there will be similar medicine created, I won't blame it. On the contrary, I appreciate this kind of behavior which seems to be wrong, but its purpose is to help more patients. Of course people can say if there is no patent for the medicine, then the pharmaceutical industry will not have drive to research new medicine. Try to consider for the patients, it is inhumanity for them to die, too. Compare to it, the life is much more important.

Some patented medicine are expensive because the laboratory who "invented" it spent million of dollars in researches. Those who copy spent nothing, because they are not even capable to conduct those researches. If all the expensive medicine are "copied" and the laboratories have no money to spend researching we will get no more life save medicines. Are you ready to take this risk?

Sometimes I wonder whether the new deadly disease is created by some labs. So they can sell their crazy expensive medicine. Sometimes a lot of money can make people do crazy things. If the patented medicine can sell reasonable price, nobody wants to take a risk to buy the copied medicine. If Penicillin still sells crazily, then many people will die and it is nearly the same situation like this medicine doesn't exist at all. However, it is available and it still gives the patients a hope which they can't never reach. It is the worse.

You are absolutely right and just to add, the patent lasts only for 20 years, after such time other pharmaceutical companies can manufacture and market it under their brand name, so 20 years to get back what you spent on research and make a profit..

The medicine should get cheaper the more they make. But most of the time it does not get cheaper.

You are quite right. This is why I think there is something wrong with the medical costs today. It can make a family broke.

It`ll be good if many people will have the same thinking like yours because in reality, they can`t change the high prices of medicines.

I can't ensure I will be healthy and it is the same for my family and friends. So offering the reasonable medicial treatment is a kind of real humanity.

I usually get Generic medicine which means the patent some medicine has run out. Sometimes newer name branded medicine isn't always good.
